Macaroons
Makes 10-12
Description/Notes:
Tempt your guests with these tasty almond biscuits.
Ingredients:
1 large egg white 2 oz. (50g) ground almonds 3 0z. (75g) caster sugar almond essence vanilla essence egg white to brush almonds, split to decorate
Cooking Instructions:
- Pre-heat oven to 350F, Gas Mark 4, 180C
- Line 2 baking trays with rice paper
- Whisk egg white until stiff
- Add ground almonds, caster sugar and a few drops of vanilla and almond essence
- Beat well
- Place small spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking trays
- Place an almond on top of each then brush with egg white
- Bake on top and middle shelves of oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown
