Fudgie Brownies
Makes 16 squares
Description/Notes:
Fudge icing and walnuts on chocolate squares, just heaven
Ingredients:
4 oz. (100g) soft margarine 4 oz. (100g) caster sugar 4 oz. (100g) self-raising flour 2 eggs, beaten 1 teaspoon baking powder 4 oz. (100g) dark chocolate, melted 2 oz. (50g) soft brown sugar 2 oz. (50g) walnuts, roughly chopped three and a half ounces (90g) hard margarine 4 tablespoons drinking chocolate powder 9 oz. (250g) icing sugar, sifted 2 tablespoons of milk
Cooking Instructions:
- Beat together the soft margarine, caster sugar, beaten eggs, self-raising flour and baking powder till smooth
- Add the chocolate, nuts and soft brown sugar
- Spread into a greased lined 8 inch (20 cm) square tin
- Bake in a pre-heated 350F, Gas Mark 4, 180C oven for 35-40 minutes
- Make icing: melt the hard margarine with chocolate powder in a pan
- Boil for half a minute then stir in icing sugar and milk
- Beat until it thickens
- Cool the cake in the tin for a few minutes before turning out on a wire rack
- Spread the top with icing, cool, then cut into squares
