Spaghetti Bolognese
Serves 1
Description/Notes:
Italian classic that you can enjoy equally as well for lunch as for dinner
Ingredients:
4 oz. (100g) lean minced beef 1 oz. (25g) chopped onion 8 oz. can chopped tomatoes half a clove of garlic 1 tbsp. Tomato puree 2 oz. (50g) wholewheat recipe salt and freshly ground black pepper pinch of dried basil pinch of dried oregano pinch of low fat cheddar cheese, grated
Cooking Instructions:
- Seal the mince in a non-stick pan and drain off excess fat
- Add the garlic and the onion then continue cooking until soft
- Add the tomatoes and their juice, tomato puree, herbs and seasoning to the pan
- Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes
- Place the spaghetti in boiling water and cook until it softens
- Place the spaghetti on a hot serving dish and pour the meat sauce over it
- Sprinkle the grated cheese over the sauce and serve
