Recipe: Butterscotch Walnut Brownies

Have a break, have a butterscotch brownie for a change


  • 4 oz. (125g) brown sugar
  • 4 oz. (125g) butter
  • 3 oz. (75g) self-raising flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 2 oz. (50g) walnuts, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla essence
  • Cooking Instructions:

    1. Pre-heat oven to 325f, Gas Mark 3, 170C
    2. Grease a 7 inch (18 cm.) square baking tin
    3. Cream together the sugar and butter until fluffy
    4. Beat in the eggs and add the vanilla essence
    5. Fold in the flour, add the walnuts and mix well
    6. Spoon the batter on to the baking tin and bake in the pre-heated oven for 35-40 minutes
    7. Cut into squares when cool
