An ideal companion for anglers, this tasty roll will guarantee that they have experience some kind of nibble by the river


  • 1 medium can of tuna, finely flaked
  • 4 0z. (125g) mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • half a small onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 oz. (25g) butter
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped capers
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 8 oz. (225g) flaky pastry
  • Cooking Instructions:

    1. Pre-heat oven to 450F, Gas Mark 7
    2. Roll out the pastry into a thin oblong and place on a baking sheet
    3. Fry the onion in butter until it softens then add the mushrooms and cook for a further few minutes
    4. Add the tuna, egg, lemon juice and capers: season to taste
    5. Put the mixture on the center of the pastry , damp edges, and fold over, first the top and bottom and then the sides. Press edges well together
    6. Score a couple of times across the top, brush with milk and place in the pre-heated oven for 15 minutes
    7. Reduce the oven temperature to 400F, Gas Mark 5 and cook for a further 15 minutes
